About e-LfH

  • What is e-LfH?
    • e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) is a Health Education England (HEE) Programme working in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies to support patient care by providing e-learning to educate and train the health and social care workforce.

The online training resources enhance traditional learning, support existing teaching methods and provide a valuable reference point. They are designed and built to be engaging and interactive, using quality images, video, audio and animation to help trainees learn and retain knowledge. Content is presented using various templates such as 'real-life' scenarios, case studies and 'knowledge bites'.

Find out more about e-LfH by visiting the e-LfH website.

  • What is eIntegrity?
    • eIntegrity Healthcare is the not-for-profit company that licenses access to high quality online professional healthcare training materials to individuals and organisations outside e-LfH’s core audience. eIntegrity Healthcare is committed to delivering high quality e-learning resources for healthcare professions across the world. All net income from licensing is applied to supporting the cost of updating existing, or developing new e-learning materials.

eIntegrity Healthcare was developed following interest from outside the UK into accessing the award-winning Radiology Integrated Training Initiative (R-ITI) e-learning programme, a collaborative project of the Royal College of Radiologists and the Department of Health. The partners, therefore, decided to establish a not-for-profit company for this purpose. As new e-learning resources become available through e-LfH, so they are made available to eIntegrity customers.

  • What is the Electronic Staff Record (ESR)?
    • The Electronic Staff Record (ESR) solution is an integrated recruitment, HR, payroll and learning management system; in place in all NHS organisations.

As well as our content being available on the e-LfH Hub, most of our content is also available via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).

ESR provides a single point of access for all NHS staff with an ESR record to access national and local NHS e-learning courses, flexibly and free of charge.

Further details are available here: Electronic Staff Record Programme.

  • How do e-LfH and ESR complement each other?
    • The learning platform within ESR is administered and run completely separately from e-LfH. However, e-LfH works with the ESR team to make most e-LfH content available on ESR as well as being available on the e-LfH Hub.

For a full list of e-LfH content available on ESR please visit the ESR Support website

  • How is the e-learning content organised?
    • Content that is relevant to a job role or speciality is structured into a programme of learning materials. The best platform for each specific type of e-learning resource is determined by the parent programme.

To gain access to an e-learning resource, please refer to the appropriate programme pages on www.e-lfh.org.uk. This will provide you with information on the conditions that have to be met in order to access the content and how to register.

Once you have registered, e-learning resources are available via your account.

      Learn more about registering.

  • Where can I find out more about specific e-learning programmes and their e-learning content?

  • What is the Hub?
    • The Hub is how e-LfH delivers the e-learning content to the users of the service and tracks your online learning to support your training records.

  • What is available through the Hub and who is it available to?
    • The e-LfH content available on the Hub provides e-learning to educate and train the health and social care workforce.

In addition to the Hub, we also have a range of bespoke web applications delivering a variety of types of e-learning resources created by e-LfH.  These include the Pathopedia and Prescription Simulator.

Non-speciality content created by e-LfH, such as Safeguarding Children and Young People, is also available via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).

  • Quality assurance

  • What quality assurance processes has the e-LfH e-learning content been through?
    • Our e-learning materials are written by subject experts and quality assured by recognised and widely respected professional bodies. They have been assembled using appropriate educational guidance and principles.

  • How do I know the e-learning content is up to date and still clinically appropriate?
    • All e-learning content is developed in partnership with professional bodies and the NHS. These clinical partners are the experts in their field and we rely on their knowledge and experience to ensure that the content of our sessions is clinically appropriate. Before going live, all sessions are reviewed by a separate clinician for accuracy.

It is inevitable, however, that content becomes out of date. We regularly put whole programmes through a full review and update process but we also update individual sessions as and when required.

If you think that a particular session or programme needs to be updated, please use the feedback option available via the Hub.

Find out more about how to provide feedback on sessions.

Whenever system maintenance is required, we will give as much warning as possible.

Check the current Service Status here.

  • Does e-LfH guarantee a certain level of support for the users of its service?
    • The support team has in place a number of service level agreements which set standards for query resolution times.

The majority of support requests concern password resets, registration enquiries and general support using the systems.

For these three areas, you should expect your enquiry to be resolved within 8 working hours. The clock on those 8 hours begins when you send in your enquiry. However, the clock is stopped at 5:00pm and resumes at 9:00am the following morning during a normal working week (Monday to Friday).

      For example:

      • If you send an enquiry at 9.00 am on Friday morning, your enquiry should be resolved by 5:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
      • If you send an enquiry at 2:00 pm on Friday afternoon, your enquiry should be resolved by 2:00 pm on Monday afternoon.

To resolve a query contact the support team via the Support site.

Further assistance is also available via Live Chat.
